No health risks from asbestos in Dutch tap water

The Health Council finds no evidence of an increased cancer risk from exposure to asbestos via tap water. The concentrations of asbestos fibres in Dutch tap water are very low and research abroad shows that even at much higher concentrations, there is no increased risk of, for example, stomach and intestinal tumours. As such, the council sees no need for action.
