Hair analyses - The significance of the elemental analysis of hair for human health

The present report summarizes the advice of a committee of the Health Council of the Netherlands to the Netherlands government on 'hair analyses'. The advisory report consists of two parts.

In the first part the significance of the elemental analyses of hair for human health is discussed. The conclusions of the committee are based on an extensive review of the relevant scientific literature. This review is presented in de second part with respect to the elements aluminium, arsenic, cadmium, calsium, chromium, copper, mercury, lead, magnesium, manganese, nickel, selenium and zinc. (Both of these two parts are only available in Dutch.)
