The mental health of young migrants and their uptake of care
The provision of appropriate care to children with mental health problems from various migrant groups in the Netherlands depends on knowing what particular groups require. ‘Young migrants’ are not a distinct social group. Hence, the assumptions that migrant children generally have more mental health problems and are underrepresented in mental health care for the young require qualification. Those are the main points contained in the Health Council’s report The mental health of young migrants and their uptake of care, published on 13 September 2012.
