Hydroquinone and benzoquinone. Health-based recommended occupational exposure limit
Exposure of the skin and the eyes to hydroquinone and/or benzoquinone may result in irritation and allergic reactions. Exposure by inhalation may also lead to kidney, liver and thyroid damage. The Health Council of the Netherlands considered the health implications of occupational exposure to hydroquinone and benzoquinone, and recommended a health based occupational exposure limit for hydroquinone. Due to lack of data it was not possible to recommend a health based occupational exposure limit for benzoquinone.
