In the Netherlands, medical treatment involving various types of human tissue is being administered. The tissue supply chain, which specifies the procedures for dealing with tissue material – from donor, via tissue centre, to finally the patient – has improved, but is not as good as it should be. A future-proof tissue supply chain needs a clearer legal basis, tighter control, and closer cooperation. This is what the Health Council writes in an advisory report to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport.
