Screening risk groups for hepatitis B and C

Screening people with a chronic infection caused by hepatitis B or C virus can best be confined to specific at-risk groups. This the Health Council of the Netherlands advises to the Minister of Health, Welfare and Sport. Screening the general population is not indicated. The key reason is that hepatitis B and C are too rare.
