Assessment framework for biological limit values

The Health Council of the Netherlands has developed a scientific assessment framework for biological limit values in the workplace. The council can use this framework to determine for which hazardous substances the derivation of a biological limit value, for which exposure is measured in human bodily material, has added value compared to an air limit value. This allows the council to better decide and substantiate which type of limit value best protects the health of the employee.
