Screening for lung cancer: not yet possible to asses whether the advantages outweigh the disadvantages

The Health Council of the Netherlands advises to further work out what a possible national population screening programme for lung cancer could look like. Only after further elaboration it can be properly assessed whether the advantages of a population screening programme outweigh the disadvantages. This is the council’s main conclusion in an advisory report to the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport.
